Chaya Someswara Swamy temple (102 Kms from Hyderabad- 2.5 hrs Travel)

Chaya Someswara Swamy temple is historical monument and also called as Thrikutalayam , a Hindu temple located in Panagal, Nalgonda district, Telangana. 102 Kms from Hyderabad and consumes 2.5 hours of car drive.

South facing temple which has shadow of linga since sunrise to sunset without moving vertical shadow is miracle of engineering architecture. Temple has 8 sub temple , built in 11th -12th Century by IKSHVAKU Dynasty and later renovated by Kunduru cholas.

Temple is carved with distinct incidents or stories of Mahabharata & Ramayana. It’s believed that visiting this temple helps to avoid enemy fears, free from Shani dhoshas and free from Bad Eye effects (Nara Dhosha).

This temple is built to please & getting blessing from Chaya Devi (Wife of Lord Surya Deva and Mother of Shani Deva).

Believed this is One of the greatest works of Vastu Shilpis who designed temple to have shadow of one of the pillar or shadow of all pillars at one point where Shiva Linga is located. Other two sub temple Vishnu Deva temple, Surya Deva temple are equally important to visit because in one temple you see 2 shadows & 3 shadows when stood in front of temples.
